Scientific study confirms the exceptional performance of Monsec sensors

A study led by the C3S Group research group, based at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, has evaluated the performance of CSSI’s MONSEC wireless sensors for monitoring the temperature in solid concrete, demonstrating their effectiveness at depths of up to 500 mm and distances of up to 20 m, even before the concrete has set.

Ignasi Cairó, CTO of Witeklab, participated in this research as part of the team of researchers, and it was recently published in the Journal of Infrastructure Intelligence and Resilience.

The project was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the C3S Group at the UPC, Hormiconsa and Witeklab, combining academic research and industrial experience to make significant advances in wireless monitoring technologies applied to construction.

Monsec sensors are part of the comprehensive solution offered by CSSI, a company owned by Witeklab, for remote monitoring of concrete setting in construction projects. The system has been developed by experts in advanced sensor technology and concrete technologies to monitor the temperature and relative humidity of concrete in real time, providing an accurate estimate of the evolution of its strength properties during the setting process.
